The story behind Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera is best known as the Venezuelan-American fashion designer who, with her elegant and classic style, designs clothes for celebrities around the world. She was born into a wealthy family in 1939 in Venezuela. Already from childhood she was introduced to the world of fashion by both her mother and grandmother, who among other things took her to fashion shows in Paris.

Throughout the 70s and 80s, she managed to get on the list of best dressed people, and when the family moved to New York, she decided to become a clothing designer. Without an actual education in the field, she nevertheless quickly became a sought-after and successful name within the fashion world. She presented her first collection at The Metropolitan Club in New York at the request of the legendary editor of Vogue, Diane Vreeland.
