Emanuel Ungaro

The designer Emanuel Ungaro has 65 perfumes, EDTs and fragrances. The earliest edition was created in 1977 and the newest is from 2021. Emanuel Ungaro fragrances were created in collaboration with perfumers Domitille Michalon Bertier, Jerome Di Marino, Alexis Grugeon, Veronique Nyberg, Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann, Francois Demachy, Jacques Polge, Loc Dong, Jean-Marc Chaillan, Yves Cassar, Pascal Gaurin, Alex Lee, Julie Masse, Francoise Caron, Francis Kurkdjian, Olivier Polge, Nathalie Lorson, Max Gavarry, Delphine Lebeau, Philippe Romano, Alienor Massenet and Marie Salamagne.

Emmanuel Ungaro is a French fashion designer. His father, a tailor who fled Italy during Fascist rule, gave his son his first sewing machine. In 1955, the 22-year-old Ungaro moved to Paris to work for Cristobal Balenciaga. After a brief stint with the house of Courrèges, Ungaro opened his own fashion house in Paris in 1965.
Ungaro fashion is known for being elegant and sexy, skilfully draped and often with vibrant colors and patterns . The women's line sold well and Ungaro added a menswear line in 1973.

Today, Ungaro offers women's clothing under the brands Emmanuel Ungaro, Ungaro Fucshia and U by Ungaro. Menswear brands include Ungaro Homme, U by Ungaro and Emmanuel/Emmanuel Ungaro. Ferragamo briefly owned a majority stake in the company in the late 1990s/early 2000s, resulting in the creation of Emmanuel Ungaro Parfums, a testament to the importance of fragrance to the Ungaro brand.

emma.co.uk has selected perfumes at reduced prices, of which Ungaro's first perfume, classic women's fragrance Diva, was introduced in 1983. Senso, Ungaro and Emmanuel Ungaro for Men were also introduced. The formation of Emmanuel Ungaro Parfums in collaboration with Ferragamo and Bvlgari led to the release of Fleur de Diva, Desnuda and Apparition series of fragrances for men and women.
