Tuborg
Tuborg is a Danish beer brand that is loved all over the world. Tuborg is today part of the Carlsberg group, but the beer brand has a long history behind it. The name Tuborg comes from the country house Thuesborg, which was built in approx. 1690 by Jonas Nielsen Thue, who was also a brewer, but he has no actual connection to Tuborg beer. On the other hand, it was not until 1873 that the limited company Tuborg's factories were built by financiers C.F. Tietgen and Philip W. Heyman, who later in 1935 changed their name to Tuborg's breweries.
The idea behind Tuborg pilsner was that you could export beer overseas, but the export failed, which is why Tuborg instead chose to sell Tuborg beer on the Danish market. Tuborg's advantage on the market was that they both brewed, bottled the beer themselves and then bottled it before it went out to retailers. Therefore, they had control over the entire production. In contrast to the other beers on the market, which were bottled at smaller companies by independent traders.
Tuborg beer is the Danes' favorite
Tuborg became a huge success at home and quickly spread to several countries, and especially in the Eastern European countries, Tuborg beer has always been popular. To this day, Tuborg is the most preferred beer among us Danes, and especially Grøn Tuborg and Tuborg Classic are among the favourites. In 1890, Tuborg entered the mineral water market and began producing their Tuborg soft drinks, including the orange water Squash and their sparkling water.
In addition to their beer, Tuborg is particularly known for the characteristic red and white Tuborg parasol, which provided shade for the Tuborg wagons that drove the beer and the advertising poster with "the thirsty man" from the year 1900 To this day, the Tuborg parasols are still seen on top of the cab of Tuborg's trucks.
